Senior Finance ConsultantJohn Latta is a management and finance consultant with experience spanning a number of industries including nonprofits, professional services, manufacturers, distributors, real estate developers, and oil and gas operators. He advises clients in the areas of strategy development, financial planning, and organizational evolution. John holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas, where he served on the faculty for two years. He was an Adjunct Professor of Accounting in the MBA program of Golden Gate University where his courses involve an in-depth examination of the role of the Chief Financial Officer, including many topics centered in financial analysis and future financial returns. John was formerly the managing partner of the Greater Bay Area offices of Grant Thornton LLP, an international accounting and consulting firm. In this capacity, he had bottom line responsibility for Grant’s $8 million operations in its two Bay Area offices. Previously, John had been the firm’s National Director of Tax Services in Washington, D.C. where he was responsible for the tax-related service capabilities of the firm’s fifty U. S. offices. He served for over 10 years as a Trustee of the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, which operates a public memorial and visitor attraction. John was intimately involved in assessing visitor trends and financial operations for the organization. John has also served on the boards of directors of several other community and business-oriented nonprofit organizations including the Association for Corporate Growth, the Churchill Club, and Raphael House of San Francisco. He and his wife have two grown children, and split their time between Millbrae, California and Forth Worth, Texas. |
