Senior ConsultantSenior Consultant Amari Romero-Thomas is a multi-faceted consultant who creates exceptional results with her consulting engagements. She is an enthusiastic leader with extensive sector experience as a nonprofit executive. As a big picture strategist, Amari’s outstanding organizational and consensus-building skills help drive successful outcomes for her clients. She also has experience working with diverse cultures, giving her additional insight into serving a wide range of organizations. Prior to joining La Piana Consulting, she spent six years with the United Way Silicon Valley (UWSV) as Senior Vice President in charge of community engagement and initiatives. During her tenure, she led efforts to transform UWSV, from a purely fundraising organization into a community-focused catalyst for change. This included launching a new grant making process, developing capacity for advocacy and public policy, as well as creating new direct service programs. Amari also led efforts to restructure the organization so that its operations were aligned with the new strategic direction. Amari led organizational transformation and sustainability efforts as Executive Director of Sacred Heart Community Service, a direct service agency in San Jose, California. She was a Senior Staff Consultant with CompassPoint Nonprofit Services working on strategy projects, executive transitions and Board governance. As a managing consultant at Drake Bearn Morin, Inc., Amari consulted to Fortune 500 organizations in the areas of restructuring and change management. She is a Senior Fellow at the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley and has won a variety of awards including The Women in Industry (TWIN) Award from YWCA of Silicon Valley and Portraits of Success Award from Hispanic Development Corporation. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Arizona State University. Born in Chile, she is bi-cultural and bi-lingual in Spanish. Amari loves to read, cook, and travel and she enjoys meeting new people and dogs from all over the world. Her community work includes Board membership with Hospice of the Valley and Together for Life Couples Network. |
