Heather designs and delivers multi-faceted, tailored solutions that help clients see things in new ways and take practical steps to achieve their goals. Blending social sector knowledge with business savvy, she works collaboratively to meet the unique needs of national, regional, and local nonprofits and foundations and the individuals who make their success possible. Heather has worked with Hosteling International USA, the ASPCA, MANY (Network of Youth and Family Services), the Association of Independent Schools in New England, and the Impact Foundation to develop forward-thinking strategies, create business plans, and develop effective leadership.
Heather is a skilled researcher and writer, always seeking out new ideas to inform the sector's response to a changing environment, and is an experienced speaker on nonprofit trends. She is also an experienced coach, trained at the Coaches Training Institute. Prior to joining La Piana Consulting, Heather was a business development associate at Ashbury Images and a technical specialist at the law firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. Heather has an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley's Haas School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Cornell University; she has also studied at the University of Sussex.
