Here are some interesting statistics on fundraising during the recession. According to Giving USA, foundation giving was only down by .8% (less than 1%) in 2008 over 2007, but is expected to drop about 9% in 2009. 2010 is also expected to be a down year, how bad is anyone’s guess. The biggest drop in 2008 was in people putting money in their own foundations or designated funds – down by 22%.
