Kyu helps deliver high-value consulting projects to our clients, often serving as the primary communications hub for projects and ensuring excellent customer service. She specializes in research, data analysis, project management, writing and editing, and is particularly drawn to projects related to the social determinants of health, multi-sector collaboration, and women’s empowerment. Her ability to manage complex projects and deliver quality work products contributes to clients’ confidence and overall success.
“I help nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations with their strategy and effectiveness so that they can focus more on the great work they’re doing and maximize the impact of their programs.”
Kyu has extensive experience building and administering surveys, coding qualitative data, conducting secondary research, and leading stakeholder interviews. She enjoys digging for themes in data to identify areas for improvement and use research findings to understand complex issues, inform existing programs, and make recommendations for actionable change.
Before joining La Piana, Kyu provided project and grants management for a national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initiative — Data Across Sectors for Health — to strengthen community capacity for collaboration and data sharing. She coordinated multiple activity streams that included overseeing grantee progress and deliverables, planning webinars, managing an online community, and developing reports and case studies.
“My goal is always to be warm, honest, and effective in the work I do. I think clients appreciate my enthusiasm, and can sense that I genuinely care about their work and want to help them. I value authentic relationships where everyone is comfortable being open and direct with their opinions, questions, and concerns.”
Kyu has a BA in Sociology with a minor in Public Health from the College of William & Mary and is completing an Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania, which is allowing her to learn more about nonprofit leadership, social enterprise, and how mission-driven organizations can maximize their impact.
