“I’m most passionate about supporting progress in racial equity, poverty alleviation, and gender equality. Fostering change in these areas inspires me because addressing them will create a society where people can connect more genuinely, freely, and more justly.”
Previously, Mya served as development coordinator at Crispus Attucks Association — a large social service agency that provides education, human services, community development, and affordable housing — where she coordinated marketing and fundraising activities. She also worked as communications project manager for a public affairs firm, leading multi-faceted client teams in executing digital advocacy campaigns. Mya serves as Communications Chair for the Community Responders Network and is a part of Harrisburg Young Professionals.
“I offer an other-focused approach that leverages my skills in adaptability, empathy, and organization to ensure that the clients’ needs are met with integrity. The sector aims to make a difference for others, and I try to keep in mind the various impacts decisions will have on diverse stakeholders.”
Mya graduated magna cum laude from Messiah College with a B.S. in marketing and a minor in psychology. She continues to expand her learning about digital communications as it evolves, specifically with SEO practices. In addition, inclusion and diversity are important to her. She hopes to discover improvement opportunities and their implications for leadership teams and her own choices.
