Lester Olmstead-Rose



Lester engages organizations in collaborative and well-designed processes that both inform and inspire strategic action. Expertly tailoring proven methodologies to the needs of each client, he is highly regarded for using skilled inquiry and robust analysis to help clients. Lester's clients in strategy development and business planning have included The Trust for Public Land, YMCA of the USA, AbilityFirst, and the Louisiana SPCA. He has also led engagements with the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund to build the capacity of its grantees. His insights and deep experience make Lester a valued ally in managing change and a sought-after speaker on organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining La Piana Consulting, Lester was director of government and public affairs at Pacific Gas & Electric Company and served as executive director of Community United Against Violence. He was also legislative assistant to San Francisco County Supervisor Angela Alioto. Lester has an MBA from Golden Gate University, a BA in Religious Studies from Stanford University, and also studied at the University of Salamanca.
