Onuka is an acute listener and observer, with an ability to quickly home in on critical issues and levers for change. His experience with complex and multidimensional change management informs his consulting work with a variety of clients. He has consulted to organizations including the ACLU of Northern California, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Communities in Schools, The Management Center, and College Futures Foundation.
Onuka’s nonprofit and consulting background has equipped him to take on a variety of challenges, from strategy development and program design, to data analysis, to strategic partnerships and change management. Prior to joining La Piana in 2017, he was VP of program at College Summit, where he led the transition from a legacy programmatic model and organizational structure to the agile, streamlined PeerForward program and infrastructure for which the organization is now named. Onuka is a past board president and foundation trustee for Delta Sigma Pi, an international professional business fraternity for men and women.
He has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and an undergraduate degree in business administration and Spanish from Truman State University. He is also a Pahara Institute NextGen Fellow.
