Congratulations to the Rogue River Watershed Council

The Bear Creek Watershed Council, Little Butte Creek Watershed Council, Stream Restoration Alliance of the Middle Rogue, and Upper Rogue Watershed Association have formalized their agreement to merge – creating the new Rogue River Watershed Council.

La Piana Consulting’s Bob Harrington worked closely with these groups for several months as they determined how to take this step forward together.

“The cumulative impact of what this merged entity could have is significant,” says Bob. “This will have real, on-the-ground results in terms of their scope of work in dam removal, habitat restoration, etc. from Grants Pass to Crater Lake to Ashland. But this impact could even be compounded by serving as an example that similar organizations may follow.”

On Thursday, November 13, Bob will join representatives from the new Rogue River Watershed Council in presenting a session on Strategic Organizational Restructuring at the 2014 Gathering for Conservation. This event is co-sponsored by the Network of Oregon Watershed Councils (NOWC) and the Oregon Association of Conservation Districts (OACD), with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB), and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
