YMCA of the USA Launches Character Development Learning Institute

YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) has announced the establishment of the Character Development Learning Institute (CDLI), an enduring effort to provide training, tools, and knowledge to equip adult practitioners to implement evidence-based character development practices that can lead youth to make positive gains in school and life.

A generous $20 million grant from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation will help to support the CDLI’s initial four-year launch phase, commencing immediately. Creating the CDLI is the latest step in Y-USA’s 170-year history of supporting the development of people from birth through career and beyond.
