Meet Onuka,

our Managing Partner.

Onuka Ibe (he/him) provides firmwide leadership for La Piana Consulting and partners with nonprofit and foundation leaders to steward the consequential decisions that shape organizations — helping leaders make choices that are clear, owned, and durable over time. His work is grounded in a belief that lasting impact depends on maintaining decision integrity — clear authority, explicit criteria, and disciplined follow‑through as conditions change.

Onuka works closely with boards and senior leaders to align around shared priorities, collaborate successfully across teams and with external partners, and manage complex change by building the strategies, structures, and cultures needed for durable mission impact.

Onuka is known for guiding organizations through moments of transition that require clarity, courage, and follow‑through. He brings a consistent emphasis on equity, accountability, and durability by helping organizations design decision processes that clarify the real decision and identify who decides. His work surfaces tradeoffs, aligns authority and criteria, and supports implementation and learning once a choice is made — preventing difficult decisions from being deferred or undone.

Before joining La Piana in 2017, Onuka served as Vice President of Programs at College Summit (now PeerForward), where he led a significant organizational transformation from a legacy service model to a streamlined, outcomes‑driven approach supported by new systems, practices, and culture. Earlier in his career, he built experience across program leadership, operations, evaluation, and change management in mission‑driven organizations. He has served as Board President and Foundation Trustee of Delta Sigma Pi, a gender‑inclusive international professional business fraternity.
