Rylan (they/them) helps deliver high-value organizational results to our clients, serving as the hub for consulting projects and ensuring excellent customer service. They specialize in project management, strategic communications, and research. Rylan’s ability to manage complex engagements and deliver quality work products contributes to clients’ confidence and overall success.
Prior to joining La Piana, Rylan worked as a grant writer for consulting agency Elevate, where they developed funding proposals and reports and conducted funder prospect research for nonprofits. They also served as Leadership and Membership Engagement Specialist for the Endocrine Society, with responsibility for cultivating, supporting, and leading digital and in-person opportunities for members of the association.
Previously, Rylan was a Program Assistant for Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO), where they created, operationalized, and supported GEO conferences and publishing, providing smarter grantmaking content to support the funder community. Rylan also served as a Program Assistant for Vitalyst Health Foundation, where they operationalized and coordinated multiple projects for the health conversion foundation, including grantmaking, events and programs.
Rylan is an active Microgrants Volunteer with Trans Lifeline, where they help individuals navigate name and gender-marker change processes for individuals in counties across the United States.
Rylan has a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management from Arizona State University. They are based in Washington, DC.
